The pace is picking up.

Each week we seem to get more and more things done and also more and more decisions to make.  Last week was picking out all the lighting fixtures.  A quick trip up to Naniamo and then works with a fell called Justin we managed to get through the whole process in just a couple of hours.  It is amazing when you walk into a shop and there are thousands of styles to choose from.  It is good to have a guide.

The roof has been on for a while but we have been waiting for the roofers to come and put on the plastic sheeting and the shingles.  Well today, this afternoon they arrived.  So by now the roof is waterproof and by Monday the shingles hold be finished.  This was a bit of a worry as the rain must come sooner of later.  It looked like Wednesday next week.

All of the wiring has now been completed.  That has taken about 4 days with two people.  The electricians will all come back after the drywall and painting is complete to put all the lights back in.  It was great to be able to choose where to put plugs and lights.  We have soffit plugs for the Christmas lights.  We have lights in the attic and a power plug up there.  We have lots of extra plugs in the office, shop and craft room.

The insulation is going to be going in over the next few days.  We've opted for special insulation in the attic, at the ends of the joists and some internal sound insulation.

Next week we will start to paint trim and soffits.

The other amazing news is that we have the house at lock-up.  All the outside doors and most of the windows are now in.  The windows that still need to be install are high up so not a lock up problem
